Maxthon RC4 (2.0.2.2324) - [2007-07-09]

Maxthon RC4 (2.0.2.2324) - [2007-07-09]

Hi,

After forum build release, we are happy announce that we released Maxthon2 RC4 . The main changes are:

1. Improved browser kernel code. Some pages that will cause browser lockup will not lockup Maxthon2 now. For example: http://forum.maxthon.com/uploads/lockuptest.htm

2. Better favorite system. We found several bugs in favorite system and fixed them.

3. Better magic fill feature. You can import the saved formed in Maxthon 1.x with this version. You can also make a login info work with a whole website by modifying the 'match url' value of the saved form.

4. Fixed a bug that cause browser lockup when it called by third party program, like msn.

Other changes are:

* Fixed could not select 'set as destop backgrand' command in browser context menu problem.
* Fixed could not delete individule search history problem.
* Fixed set sticky name did not work problem
* Fixed could not select text in address bar problem

You can download it from our website: http://beta.maxthon.com

Thanks for your support
good~ But Magic Fill has some problems,it hasn`t fixed in 2324 yet.
can anyone please tell me what does the test suppose to test (exactly) ?

I think I may need some help here. Does this has to meet certain criteria? I have been trying for the last hour to import my saved M1 formdata into this build. Both in a sharedaccount and a personal account, both from the first launch import (when no identity exists yet) and after creating an identity. I simply can't get it imported...[] and it is only 3 forms just for testing purposes.

Same here when i've tried to "import" (a simply copy and paste of Form.dat file)
from previous M2 version. So i've rebuilded all my Magic Fill data re-browsing
all websites where i have an account, doing a real fresh install.
Wonder if many reported "bugs" of MF are due to these kind of things...

Autofill still doesn't work propper.
When I scroll the tabs with my mouse pointer over the tabs, it moves two tabs for every click of the mouse wheel. I double checked and the mouse is set to scroll one line per click.

If you are able to use M2 after pressing the "go" button on that page you are getting desired effect. Now try doing the same with other browsers, they will freeze.

Yes, I can confirm this. What I believe happened is that the previous build converted every "=" sign to "^^". Maxthon continued to function properly anyway as it put a "=" sign in place of the "^^" signs when an address was called for. In this build, Maxthon is interpreting the "^^" signs literally. Use Notepad++ program to find and replace every instance of "^^" with "=" in the Config.ini file located in your Config folder under your profile folder. If you are using Function keys for multiple URLs, go to the section titled [URLKey] and replace each "=" back to "^^" between each URL. Or you can correct this later in Maxthon Setup Center/Navigation/Shortcut Key. As far as I can tell, this is the only place that the "^^" in needed in this file (i.e., as a delimiter between URLs when using function keys for multiple URLs). BTW, I believe this is only a problem for people like myself who installed over the previous build and thus carried the problem over into this build. Someone doing a fresh install probably would not have this problem.
WOW! This latest version is the fastest browser that has ever ran on this machine! It beats Opera and Off By One even! The first thing I do with a new version is to go through the settings and customise. On each item from the left column I make the changes and click Apply each time then go on to the next item on the left. Everything seemed to work properly except the setting of Favorites Bar Display Folder: ROOT. I changed it to Root/Links but the setting did not take. I then made the change via the Show "Recent Visited Hyperlinks" button on Favorites Bar. Also regarding searches - At the moment the defaults have been left and using both the Search Bar and the Quick Search from the Address bar there are no problems here. If it means anything both settings for the Use server supplied search engine list are not being used here. Congrats on the speed issue!
Be seeing you.

That site seems to measure Internet connection speed only. Is there a part of the site that somehow measures browser speed?
