Description

Microformats Button extracts Microformats from websites and allows you to export the data to vCard, vCalendar, Google Maps, Yahoo Maps and other sites.

For example, if you visit a site like http://upcoming.yahoo.com  you will find all sorts of events, like http://upcoming.yahoo.com/event/169634/ .
But how can you export this event to Google Calendar, Yahoo Calendar or even Outlook? Copy/paste? No! Simply click on the plugin button, select Events > Travis > Export. Then a vCalendar will be created that can be imported in Outlook.
And if you like to know where the event takes place on a map, simply select the hCard and click on "view with Google Maps".

Other places where you find Microformats: Last.fm events and a lot of other sites.

Note that Microformats are very new, not all sites use them. But Firefox 3 will support Microformats, so this is only a matter of time.

This plugin is based on the Operator extension for Firefox and DHTML Menu 4.

Supported Microformats:
- geo
- hCard
- hCalendar
- adr
- tag

NOTE: this plugin is for Maxthon 2.0 and higher only!

About microformats

Microformats are a way of adding simple markup to human-readable data items such as events, contact details or locations, on web pages, so that the information in them can be extracted by software and indexed, searched for, saved, cross-referenced or combined.

More technically, they are items of semantic markup, using just standard (X)HTML (i.e. POSH) with a set of common class-names. They are open and available, freely, for anyone to use.

Updated! This release fixes all the issues I could find. If you notice a bug, please let me know. Version 1.0.0 12 June 2007 - Fixed display problem for Asian characters in tags - Menu names are more user-friendly now - Fixed script error with empty microformat nodes - Fixed problem adding certain events to Google Calendar - Plugin can recognize more rel-tags - Fixed problem with empty "Address" menu - Fixed problem with spaces in tags - Fixed issue with opening a new tab - Fixed rare issue with menu shortly appearing on left side of screen - Script errors are now written to "Microformats Button/temp/log.txt" Download from first post
Neat plugin! A suggestion: if a site only has one microformat (for example, your site only has "tag") then let the plugin automatically skip the first submenu step and instead show the tag submenu as first drop down menu. A second best alternative would be to at least automatically expand the submenu if there's only one microformat.

Hi, The problem with skipping the first submenu is that you don't see what type of microformat these items are. But expanding the submenu automatically is a good idea (if the menu library I use supports it).

How do I install this plugin ?

Hello,
could you tell me please how to install the plugin into opera browser?
thanks
