[M2-Button] MaxTor

MaxTor 1.2.0 Users probably have heard or used the infamous TOR (The Onion Routing). Briefly, TOR is a way to surf the web anonymously. Also because of surfing anonymously, websites unaccessible to users in certain regions/networks often become accessible. But connection through TOR is relatively slow, so users usually switch between TOR and direct connection from site to site. For convenience, some users install proxy software like Privoxy to switch automatically. Also since TOR will open a console window while running, which not only takes up desktop space but can also be easily closed by accident. So some users install software like TorCF or Vadilia to prevent the console. Actually TOR, Vadilia, and Privoxy are bundled together in TOR's main site. But then users have to install and run 3 applications simultaneously. MaxTor is specifically developed for the latest Maxthon 2.0 (beta2 preview). It uses Maxthon's advanced proxy function to switch between TOR and direct connection automatically. So users don't need to switch manually or install additional proxy application. MaxTor also provides an option to run TOR without the console window, so users don't need to run TorCF or Vadilia. MaxTor has already bundled TOR and can be installed like other Maxthon 2.0 plugins. There is no need to separately install TOR. Using MaxTor is very convenient. First users have to start TOR from the plugin's dropdown menu. There are also options to start TOR on system startup, and options to start TOR without the console. Then in sites where connection through TOR is needed, just click the MaxTor button. The site will be added to Maxthon's advanced proxy configuration and will be connected through TOR automatically. It is equally convenient to cancel a site from connection through TOR. Just click the MaxTor plugin again. Changes Version 1.2.0 - Updated to work in 2.0 beta 4 - store user settings separately in PluginData folder inside user profile Version 1.1.0 - Stop TOR command in the plugin dropdown menu - option to use TOR for entire domain (previously only for host) Download MaxTor 1.2.0 or MaxTor1.2.0.m2p (1.04 MB)
WOW! Sounds great... ... and the German language file [] Updated. Wrong language id - fixed. 2#Updated. Changes in internal plugin language structure.

Plugin does not work in Maxthon 2.0 beta2 (will work again in beta3 or next public version)
Sounds a great plugin. [] But I'm a ver.1 user. []
I hope you can understand my broken English.
I'm sorry for any inconvenience.
I get a forum error when I try to download.
Updated to version 1.2.0: - work in 2.0 beta 4 - use new plugin commands to store user settings separately in user profile
I installed this plugin. When I try to use it I choose Start TOR I do not check any of the boxes on the dialog that opens. Click OK I get a command window and Notepad opens with 'tor_run' opened for editing.

Are you using vista? Does Tor opens if the tor_run.lnk (in the TOR folder inside the MaxTor plugin) is double clicked?

No, not using Vista, XP Pro SP2.
TOR starts fine if I click that shortcut.
I am using XP SP2 and installed the plugin. After I press ok in the "Start TOR" dialog, nothing seemed to happen. If I run the "tor_run.exe" in the "Plugin" folder, I will get a runtime error and its code is 429. Instead of running the "tor_run.exe", I ran "tor.exe" and it seemed to work fine.

Just updated and got the result mentioned...
The plugin worked even worse in the previous version:
When I press the icon of it, and then press ok, nothing seemed to happen " border="0" alt="confused.gif" />
(Even I ticked the option of reloding the page automatically and the dialog not even disappeared ← It also happens in "Start TOR" dialog in the lastest version.)
One more problem: When I press "Stop TOR", the dialog is shown as below:

('oWSH' is null or not an object.
Scr: Microsoft JScript runtime stage error
Line: 4 Error: 0 Scode: 800a138f)
P.S. Just using the skin of vista, not real vista, xp sp2 only

Would you try deleting the old proxyconfig.xml (or renaming it) and try again?

You may also reset the plugin toolbar: Right Click > Add or Remove Buttons > Reset, and see if it helps.

I am sorry to tell you that I have tried both of the methods you provided but none of them works.
Quick question: I need to access the page at first and then I can activate TOR for the same page or host? Is there also a way to access initially by using TOR?
