Preview version 2.0.0.5256

Hi, First thanks for all people who supported us. We are happy to announce that a new PREVIEW version of Maxthon 2.0 is released. This version only has limited functionalites. You could download it from your passport account. * Fix lock toolbar problem + Favorite import/export + Tab is made faster + Manully Download/Upload favorite and RSS + Download proxy dialog + Ctrl+E to move focus to search bar + Add number of blocked content to status bar information area.
just to inform... the mousewheel function to shift between tabs is broken in this tab. It does not work with the SHIFT modifier nor by hovering the tab bar anymore. It's reported. The 5256 build has an issue with certain languages that use the right ALT key to type in special letters. I am hosting a modified version of it, so if you are one of those with issues, please download this version. NOT hosting the file anymore.... 10 or so days of hosting is enough. Note that it only contains the exe, so just overwrite the old one with this new one.

Please tell me how to download the newest edition. Thanks!
Is it possible to update M2 version via online update (I would like to test it [] ) or we have to do it via passport.maxthon.com

No, only via passport atm

You can install it right over.

I just installed it over the previous release seems to be fine. Apart from Mousewheel-ing through tabs isn't working.....aaargh

+ Ctrl+E to move focus to search bar
Fine but.. It is working for Ctrl+E and also for Alt+E. Shortcut Alt+E (and also Alt+O, Alt+L, Alt+Z, Alt+X, Alt+C, Alt+A, Alt+S) is used by me to write national fonts (Polish in my case) so now I can't use this font in Maxthon 2.0.0.5256. 1. How to turn off this Alt+E shortcut? 2. Do you plan (Maxthon team I mean [] )implement more "Alt based" shortcuts in M2? If yes, do you plan to give a chance to change these shortcuts for non english users? 3. How about the shortcut to move focus to address bar? []

1) ALT+E does nothing for me, nor does the others except for ALT+S which is a forum software shortcut for "Submit post" 3) ALT+D or F6 works for that

3) - OK Thanks [] 1) for me, right Alt+E (left Alt does nothing) does the same (move focus to search bar) as Ctrl+E. Right Alt is used by Polish keyboard settings to write national fonts. How to turn it off...? It is really important but I have no idea what to do with it []

ok, that's ALT Gr, which is CTRL+ALT combined. I have that behaviour too. I think that's probably just a bug. Not enough checking on what modifier button that is pressed. I'll post it as a bug on the bug tracker asap. EDIT: Bug posted

Is there any hotkey to edit the active URL? Joc

With Alt Gray I have difficulties (like in Sdar's post): I have national (Hungarian) keys with AltGr. My opinion: let me set Function keys (F1-F12) for this functions. I know now I can set F1-F12 to URLs. Change it to URLs+functions. Or whatever... Joc

Preview tab (Tab Manager) layout is fixed instead of liquid. Thus you end up needing to scroll sideways after opening a sidebar if you did not have it visible when opening preview. If sidebar was open, closing it will not cause preview window to reflow, leaving a big white gap at the right hand side of page.
Another brick in the wall... []
