[M1] [M1-Button] Pluginchecker 3.1.1

I installed the 3.1 RC-1 and it simply refused to find any plugins at all when I ran it. I found out by fluke that this was because I'd renamed the "PluginChecker" folder to something else in the plugins directory and I assume that it couldn't find something because of the different directory name? Is this true or just a fluke?

Try to disable the FileSystemObject in Setup.

It's true that with the "use FileSystemObject" it can't find any plugins.
Without it, it could work. But I haven't tried it, so I'm not 100% sure. " border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
What could be causing this error? PluginChecker Version 3.0 -- By Neo101 Could not open your Maxthon/Config/Plugins.ini file! I tried the new RC1 & got the same error.

huh? im lost now

Lost about what?

Actually, I'm lost too... I had no idea I had a new plugin site IPB Image

-i meant the site the opens when i press "Tara's Plugins Site " in the home page , and it goes to : http://tara.maxthon.com/

anyway, i'm glad it's ok now.

btw, i can see that in miranda , they have 2 plugins similar to this plugin:
http://addons.miranda-im.org/details.php?a...iewfile&id=2254
Screenshot:
http://addons.miranda-im.org/files/screens...707-updater.jpg
and the other one:
http://addons.miranda-im.org/details.php?a...viewfile&id=358
and the Screenshot:
http://addons.miranda-im.org/files/screens...6155-wassup.png

so you see, it is possible to make a plugin that shows more detail (like the date) , and even notify us when there is an update.
i think that this plugin should be inside maxthon by default.

Sorry for the last reply " border="0" alt="blush.gif" />

I think it's caused by the old plugins.ini-converts-to-ansi-sometimes-bug.
But since I switched 2 error messages, you don't get the proper message, that should be:

Could not open your Maxthon/Config/Plugins.ini file!
Enable the option "Use FileSystemObject" in Setup.
If that doesn't work you can also try to convert plugins.ini to ANSI format.
Close Maxthon.
Make a backup of plugins.ini, open the file with Notepad and click on file->Save As, then click on ANSI and save it as plugins.ini.
Thanx Neo. I'd already tried every possible setup configuration. The ANSI trick was the problem. 4 your info "Use FileSystemObject" was not enabled when I got it 2 work. I've never heard of the ANSI bug. Will changing the ini 2 ANSI impact Maxthon in any other way? I'll check out this plugin now.

is there a way of making it notify you when there is an update, after you run maxthon?

It would B great if Plugin Checker could automatically & invisibly check for updates daily & only open the results tab if an update is available.

I will think about it.
Problem is though that PluginChecker has to be auto-started.
cool! maybe it should be one of plugins in the download file of maxthon.

" border="0" alt="clap.gif" /> Good Luck " border="0" alt="clap.gif" />
can we add an option, s.t., we can close update note for some plugins we are not interested in?
Posts about the plugin site unavailable are moved here.
Hello Neo, Is it possible that this fantastic plugin needs some update? I can't retrieve a lot of updates for other plugins installed. TIA, Cyber.-

It's difficult to fix since the new Resource Center page uses different id's for the plugins. So I have to download all plugin pages, parse them with a Python script and then build a new index.
I'll wait until you can do this [] Thanks for all the effort you have put in to it. Greetings, Cyber.-
