problem with drop-down boxes in websites since v2.5.6.
for example, by pressing W on keyboard i could select "Washington" from a drop-down.
since i installed 2.5.6, i have to hit "Home" or "End", then select using arrow keys.
maxthon didn't crash after 2.5.6.
i just upgraded to 2.5.9 - and still have this problem :(
if this is a certified bug, maybe you guys will fix it in the next version.

I've been fruitlessly trying for the last 10 minutes in a 2.5.6 too and it didn't work for me either, which build number is it that you still see this working in?

I got that problem for some time. Not sure which version it started.
When I need to do data entry using drop-down (combo boxes), I have to switch to IE.

Here is the problem.

If you have combo box and you are a mouser, no problem. You click the drop-down, do your selection and everything works.

Now, if you works and know first letter, you should be allowed to click first letter (ex: click W to select Washington), and if you don't know the choices, you click Alt-down and list open. Both those works in IE but not in Maxthon (but it used to work at some time).

That doesn't stop me to use Maxthon (I been using it since the time it was named after IE), but unfortunately, that force me to switch to IE for some web applications.

I haven't seen a problem like this for a long time.. What version of Maxthon and IE you have installed?

I can confirm the issue, I have not tried IE8 yet, but at least IE6 defaults on every select box to going to the first entry where the first letter is matching the typed letter. Maxthon just sits there waiting for you to use the mouse.
