MichaelD
Am I overlooking something (it's certainly possible), but is there no ad-blocking gizmo available for Maxthon aside from AdBlocker Plus, which is lame, lame, lame? Could this be so? If so, it is a dreadful defect for Maxthon. Tell me I'm mistaken. Please. Thanks.

Blinderson
How do you add the subscriptions from ADblock+? My laptop wants to know what app to use to open the file. Thanks for the guidance.

My laptop wants to know what app to use to open the file. Maxthon can't auto import filter lists unfortunately. You have to add it manually or use one of the default lists. To add one of the default lists: Open ABP settings > Add filter subscription Select one of the filter lists from the dropdown Click Add To add a filter list that's not available in the list: Right click on the subscribe link and select Copy link address. Open ABP settings > Add filter subscription Click Add your own filters Enter a title for your list Paste the address that you copied into the Filter list location box. Delete anything before the first http and after the last "&" (see note below) Change the %3A to a colon ":" Click Add Note: Copied link = abp:subscribe?location=https%3A//easylist-downloads.adblockplus.org/easylist.txt&title=EasyList Revised link = https://easylist-downloads.adblockplus.org/easylist.txt Bolded parts have been removed/revised.
