  1. Failed Certificates

What more are you looking for?
  2. it has lost all of my links except for the 4 things I had opened as tabs.Unless that is explained wrong, that is how the last tabs page works. It keeps a list of the last tabs that were opened when Maxthon is closed. If you want other tabs that were open previously then history is where you should be looking. Earlier Tabs should have a list of the last tabs left open prior to the most recent close.
  3. QA colours - change request

s_ta_s replied at 2014-10-15 05:26 This is not what I had in mind. The files of these buttons and font settings are somewhere in the ... The file QA.dat in \UserData\Public\QuickAccess\Frame contains what you're looking for. Extract using the tools found here: http://forum.maxthon.com/thread-801-1-1.html
  4. How to make mxskin?

15731837 replied at 2014-10-12 00:04 Is there a better skin that I can work off of other than "My First Skin"? As that theme makes the tab on the bottom and adds a few extra things. Without a proper tutorial, I'm not sure if I can skin Maxthon efficiently. You should read the details in the SDK documentation as it offers a lot of information about how things work and options you have. Also the more you know of HTML/CSS the easier it is to work with. As tony. said working with the standard UI.dat is probably the best. Documentation shows how to extract this. In general: HTML files dictate the components of an element. Eg. the navbar consists of the navigation buttons, address bar, search box. Each of those components can be added/removed from the navbar element. CSS files dictates how everything looks (size, placement, colour etc.) *my terminology is probably off, but it should get the point across.
  5. How to make mxskin?

Checkout the info & attachment in the first post of this thread. http://forum.maxthon.com/thread-804-1-1.html The attachment includes a basic tutorial on how everything works along with the required files. If you understand HTML/CSS you shouldn't have any issues with it. Just be aware there is no GUI for accessing skins in MX4. They can only be installed by clicking the skin file which will give you a prompt asking if you would like to install the skin.
  6. Updated User Agent

SnowLeopard replied at 2014-8-23 19:57 Thanks for the explanations. It's lgood to find you back on the boards. Now to answer your quest ... But the M4 result leavesme puzzzled how Peacekeeper is identifying Maxthon when it comes after Chrome. At a guess they're testing for known UA elements in a certain hierarchy. So starting with the obscure ones working down to the most well known. When there is a match that is used instead of Chrome/IE/FF etc which will be further down the list. But as I said it's just a guess mind you, as that's how i'd do it if I was testing for something like that.
  7. MaxthonGuy replied at 2014-7-21 10:58 I've never used Adhunter rules, and I don't know where to start. I looked at Adhunter's Manage Rul ... This is a pretty good introduction: http://forum.maxthon.com/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=2135&highlight=adhunter%2Brules
  8. QA mod

    Reopened.
  9. Updated User Agent

It could be the latest Chrome update was responsible for the YT change. They seem to go hand in hand. That would make sense i guess. But why would things still be broken after going back to 4.4.0.4000 when it would still be using the older/original version that did work? Which Youtube link on the videos do you mean?I just found out that you can click the share button and then the more link which opens it on Youtube. So while not as handy as the direct link on the navbar, much better than scrounging for a link. But this is the one I was talking about.
  10. Updated User Agent

Magdalene replied at 2014-5-24 03:13 Youtube does go through strange phases during it's evolution. Perhaps it was one of those phases. Although that is possible, the coincidence is just too great. Everything was working fine till the last update. I notice there are some users that prefer HTML5, curious to know why? The popup feature for flash makes it a much better option for me, and can't see what benefits HTML5 offers. It might be better for mobile devices that don't support flash, but we're talking windows here, and apart from security scares with flash and people not wanting to install it is there any other reason to prefer HTML5? Hopefully the popup feature can be implemented for HTML5 and then we (I) won't have to deal with these dramas. EDIT: and using Youtube centre for some reason removes the little youtube link on the video, meaning you can't quickly open up the video on youtube to take advantage of YTC. Instead have to stuff about copying links etc...Why oh why!!
  11. Updated User Agent

I've gone back to MX4.4.0.4000 as the loss of smooth scrolling was annoying me. And it seems i've lost the "bug" of flash video everywhere as well. Doesn't make sense, as that means that it wasn't the MX version or UA that was causing it. Have installed YT centre, but it only seems to work on Youtube.com and not on embedded videos?
  12. Updated User Agent

Noooooooooo... Now HTML5 videos play instead of changing to flash... The "bug" where everything played as flash was the best bug ever.
  13. A VPN service (like Hola)

I contacted Hola ages ago. No response from them. In the end it's up to them to create an addon for Maxthon, unless someone can convert one from the other browser versions which I don't think would happen, as it's a little more complex than most addons. Until Maxthon is seen as another one of the BIG browsers they won't see support from developers. For that reason alone, the Mac version is up on the Windows version as it can use Chrome addons. So the only option is to temporarily use another browser for what you need it for, or use the standalone version that is system wide, rather than the browser addon.
  14. Tutorial part 2: How to make favorites bar more compact

Excellent. Love the fact that you take the time to explain and show how to do it, rather than just uploading a skin file. Might inspire some others to look into creating or modding some skin elements themselves instead of always requesting.
  15. Thanks for that. Adds fine, and as far as I can tell seems to be working as intended. Only thing left is getting rid of the Quicktools dropdown... EDIT: got rid of that.. only thing left is the avatar menu. :-D Also if one of the mod's thinks this is slightly off topic for the thread (even I think it might me) let me know and i'll start another related to my stuffing around.
  16. tony. replied at 2013-5-10 03:38 what do you want to do - i have noads and skynotes running as separate entries - it was initially ... Now that i've finally decided to move to MX4, I have started modding the skin to my liking to a degree. Still working on getting the avatar back on the left. But the problem is getting Favs on toolbar back on the quicktools bar. I managed to get it back a while ago after screwing around with the toolbar extension file IIRC. Although the bigger problem is that this particular extension gets broken by something so won't display properly - even in the sidebar, even though it calls the same Favourites panel as the sidebar addon. I've tried playing around with all the options in the addon file to no avail. Will keep on poking around. And please post your method.
  17. Maxthon Cloud Browser (Maxthon4) does not support toolbar entrypoint. How unfortunate. Would still like to know the reasoning behind this. Seems like the MX team think the Sidebar is a better option, but I just don't see the benefit.
