  1. Works fine here, and on .400 *shrugs* Possibly a network/browser combination issue?
  2. did you check to see if it is enabled in settings? if so, disable/enable and try again.
  3. Darling, there is someone that is wrong in this thread, and it isn't me. If working normally means keeping focus, then that would mean either 1/ there is something wrong with your version, 2/ you've done something with a 3rd party program to add that feature. Normal functionality is that it is only in focus when instigated via a command (menu option/keyboard shortcut/download prompt). There's plenty of answers here, and the outcome is - it's working as intended. Yes, and we understand there is no problem. It seems we agree on what your alleged issue is, but don't agree that it's an actual issue because it's NEVER functioned as you describe. So either there's a communication breakdown here and we're talking about something else, or as noted above, you've done something to add that feature (possibly without knowing?!) I normally say repeating something doesn't make it true, but in this case i'll let that slide because what i'm saying is a bona fide verifiable fact: - MX downloader NEVER, EVER stayed in focus while downloads were running. EVER.
  4. Not sure what this guy is on about. MX downloader has NEVER stayed on top. If you click the MX main window it always takes focus. The Downloader prompt will take focus once you click on a downloadable link, and subsequently the download manager. While the file is downloading, the manager doesn't stay in focus unless you explicitly click on the taskbar icon, use Ctrl-J, or the Downloads option from the main menu. There's no indication from the posts or images to show that the taskbar icon is not being displayed.
  5. I don't believe there's any confusion, i think they have a system in place, just that maybe things get mixed up when they update the listings. Normally the last number will show if it's a beta/final version. RC's are normally tagged with RC. <1000 is beta, 1000 or 2000 is final. If there is going to be a .2000 release then there may be beta versions between .1000 > .2000 (eg. Bugfix releases generally get re-released under the same number (which they shouldn't but whatyougonnado?). 5.2.7.x seems to be an odd one. In release notes, it's marked as beta, but tagged as RC in the filename. Then the final shortly after that. I think someone got confused with this one. Ideally they'd be a little more defined. <800 beta, 900 RC, 1000/2000 final. Then any bugfixes between those get a small bump, so 921 is a RC with some fixes since 900, then released as 1000. You shouldn't look at when they're released, but look at the version numbers. If you're testing beta versions then stick with them. If not then stick with final versions. Definitely don't jump between them. If that doesn't make sense then probably best to just leave things as they are.
  6. I've been forever complaining about some of the UI issues in MX. While things have improved since MX4, there are still some things out of place, or just plain not updated because of whatever reason. So in the same spirit of the Typo's, grammar issues etc... lets make a list! thread... here we go with MX UI issues...lets make a list!! Although somehow I don't think it will get the same response as the other thread... of which also has been somewhat slow to fix issues of late... So off we go... Lock button has text lower than the Security button A message about Chrome?? Not sure how this came up, nor have I seen it more than twice, but still i'll add it in Reader mode: The search bars are different in Maxnote and Passkeeper. In Maxnote - Colours are lighter, smaller text, different magnifying glass icon Choose one style and make them the same. Different heading style compared to downloader/ABP/clear browsing data/sniffer dialogs etc. FIXED - In QA setttings, "background" is cut off even though there is plenty of room for the (?) to be moved to the right: More to come... Once they've been looked at it would be nice if the UI could get a slight make over. Currently it's very static, buttons are either on/off, there's no movement. Add some animation (eg. fade in/out) when moving over tabs/buttons. Opening/closing tabs is very, very jerky compared to almost every other browser. The latest Firefox looks amazing, animation on hovering over the tabs, a colour flourish when a tab is loaded, animated refresh button, fades on menus. Even just the fade on the text in the tab bar when the titles are too long - it looks better than the ellipsis (...) that Maxthon uses. All very small things, but they complete the experience and makes the whole browser look very polished and complete. The new Maxnote style is nice. The animated drop shadows when hovering over items is a nice touch. Hopefully that starts making it's way into the rest of the browser over time.
  7. gone?

Thanks for proving me right. Originally I was going to post a screenshot of the log, but figured i'd be accused of editing it. But now apparently the logs don't "log". Well there you go. Maybe someone should let IPS know that their forum software (which is built on a database of logged entries) doesn't work properly.
  8. gone?

Logs say nothing happened. The only threads deleted or hidden were NOT related to any of the x.x.x.300 threads. Think what you want, but nothing happened.
  9. gone?

Was never gone. I just used my eyes, found it in the unpinned threads and pinned it. Was still in the release notes as well. I've always been quite open about my thoughts of the browser and their processes, but seriously, the amount of conspiracy theories and constant digs on their "testing" is getting beyond ridiculous. 5 random users "testing" a release 1 day before official release a "test team" it does not make. But yes, whatever internal testing they did failed big time on this release - but it is a beta(!) and a new core!
  10. Maxthon vs. Fullscreen apps

Yep it does make you cry doesn't it... Seems it's not fixed, the issue is back although doesn't seem to be as repeatable as it used to be. Might have been a one off or something. Given the number of posts of issues of the most recent beta, it seems the core upgrade has caused a lot of issues. Being a user who used to use MX everyday as my only browser, i've now gone to Vivaldi, using MX for various things like logins that i haven't moved over yet. But this bug could well be the one that pushes me right off the edge. It's just too annoying having to close the browser just to make something else work properly, even though that program isn't even at fault.
  11. Open a youtube video, detach the video, change to another tab. Wait a few seconds and the video will stop playing but the audio continues. Change back to the source tab and the video starts playing again. Pretty much defeats the purpose of detaching the video if it won't continue playing without the source tab in focus. On the plus side, it seems now videos are disabled from playing by default. Nice feature finally introduced.
  12. Maxthon vs. Fullscreen apps

    Seems to be fixed in
  13. It's been a while, but i'm pretty sure that's what happens when the quick option is enabled on a new install but hasn't been set by the user (because for some stupid reason the dev's decided to enable that option by default and set it to a stupid F: drive IIRC, that also doesn't show in the field in settings). Per the link, enable/disable and it should fix the problem.
  14. Maxthon vs. Fullscreen apps

    Not sure what the video will show, but anyways... 7sec Kodi.exe is started using a keyboard combination Video is selected and starts to play on 2nd screen (not shown) 21sec Maxthon.exe restores from being minimised to a window and steals focus NOTHING is pressed or done between 7sec > 21sec If Maxthon.exe isn't running Kodi.exe keeps focus as it should. From the focus detection program shown in the video: 41608:C:\Users\me\Desktop\focus\focus.exe | Mon Dec 17 22:30:14 2018 << FOCUS.exe started 6412:C:\Windows\explorer.exe | Mon Dec 17 22:30:16 2018 54016:C:\Program Files (x86)\Kodi\kodi.exe | Mon Dec 17 22:30:32 2018 << KODI.exe started No foreground application | Mon Dec 17 22:30:46 2018 1920:C:\Maxthon5\Bin\Maxthon.exe | Mon Dec 17 22:30:47 2018 << MAXTHON.exe steals focus!!! 18592:C:\Users\me\AppData\Local\WebLaunchRecorder\Screen Recorder Launcher.exe | Mon Dec 17 22:31:09 2018 1920:C:\Maxthon5\Bin\Maxthon.exe | Mon Dec 17 22:31:12 2018 18592:C:\Users\me\AppData\Local\WebLaunchRecorder\Screen Recorder Launcher.exe | Mon Dec 17 22:31:12 2018 41608:C:\Users\me\Desktop\focus\focus.exe | Mon Dec 17 22:31:48 2018 Recording #1.mp4
  15. Maxthon vs. Fullscreen apps

been having this issue as well of late. Very annoying!
  16. buttons need to be moved right to allow for revised strings. Should also help with other languages.
  17. known since September!!! http://forum.maxthon.com/index.php?/topic/22756-mx-ui-issues-lets-make-a-list/&do=findComment&comment=125855
  18. Neither string highlighted below are in the crowdin translation list. The patterns of favorites display should be Display favorites as... Only display the icon should be Display icon only Due to the way the menu is shown, i'd change the options to Title only, Icon only, Icon and title. No need to repeat display as it doesn't add anything to it.
  19. In Passkeeper security info: Make the question tabbed in line with the answer Use the correct apostrophe so there's no weird spaces in words. There's more than just those marked below. Just had another look: Last line first question should be "to ensure your password information is secure". 2nd question should be "won't be affected by changing devices" 3rd "please change to a more complicated password..." Sigh...And there's probably more...
  20. Looking for the Author of RoboForm Lite

Yes Nothing, it's just another option for those that don't want to use the built-in Maxthon version.
  21. Another one... still no fixes for many of the above...
  22. Stylish for Maxthon and spying

how interesting, and concerning. there's no reason why you can't unpack the extension and have a look at the code, even better if you've got the dodgy chrome version to compare against. As you said, many MX addons were user created/ported rather than official versions from the dev, so depending on how up to date the uploader kept it, it could still be safe. At this stage probably best not to use it if anyone is at all worried about these revelations.
  23. "Secret" should be changed to something more meaningful. Firstly, it sounds a little ominous, and I would imagine make some users question the browser all together. Secondly, what is displayed is a pretty generic disclaimer about third party software etc. So why the term "secret" was used as the link name i have no idea, and is way off the mark. And it seems it just shows a less well formatted version of the Maxthon EULA.
