  1. BTW, there was a plugin (I think it was called "removeIt") that I could choose exactly what to block on the webpage. Not just images, but HTML tags. I tried to find it on the extensions website, but I didn't succeed.

Anyone know how to get it?

I wish it was a part of the ad blocking, because currently I can't even add images to the ad blocker rules.

  2. I am looking for a UA Switcher because Firefox already has some and it is really handy if you want to access some websites that has different appearance on mobile.

Not only that, but some websites actually behave or look better using specific UA .

Some even have annoying banners saying you should replace your web browser.

  3. When visiting on ebay and other websites, they usually show the currency in dollars or even on other types of currency.

Each time I'm curious about a product, I have to use Google's website to convert to my country's currency (which is Shekels).

For example, I type "100 dollars to shekels" , and get this:

    https://www.google.com/search?q=100%20dollars%20to%20shekels

I'd like to have a tool, built in, for converting the selected text to the currency of my choice, or even do it automatically.

You could even add it inside the translator tool, as this is a special kind of translating (more like: translating is a type of conversion, between languages) ...

    This script might be useful:
  4. I had to create a new account to go to this forum (it's me "UFO106"). Because I couldn't do it using the special website it gave me (with the number).

Anyway, I wanted to post a new bug and now because my credits are gone, I can't. I wanted to write that it's impossible to search texts on this website:

    http://www.google.com/design/spec/patterns/navigation-drawer.html#

Try to search for "navigation" . Entering the 4th character or so, the search bar will be gone.

Try with last portable version, no Maxthon account and without changing any settings!

I actually don't use Maxthon account.

Using the portable version worked , but now I wonder what causes it to happen.

After disabling some stuff, I've found out that the GreaseMonkey script that's called "youTube center" is to blame, and I use it on Chrome too...

Sadly, I really liked this script, as it has a lot of functions:

    1. allows to download videos (and even mp3). Maxthon used to do it, but it can't do it anymore for a long time.

    2. allows to stop all videos on other tabs if one already plays.

    3. allows to use flash instead of HTML5 (useful to allow Maxthon to make it float) even on embedded videos.

    4. skips ads.

    5. allows to set the default size of the player.

    Hi,

Have your problem been solved? Maybe you can upgrade to the latest beta version 4.4.5.600.I hope ...

I've now tried to use the default UA and updated Maxthon version ( 4.4.5.600) , but it still doesn't work.

I've also tried to click CTRL+F5 . Still can't put spaces...

Weird thing is that I've come back to Chrome, and it doesn't work there either...

    Maybe it's a YouTube issue?

  7. 1. go to a youtube video, like this one:

I've tested it on many youtube videos. all the same.

    2. Now initiate replying to someone.

    3. Type one word, and then press the spacebar button.

For some reason, it doesn't allow me to put spaces.

    How come?

Another issue I have with Google's websites is that I can't interact with the G+ notifications (can't click them and can't remove them).

I'm using v4.4.3.4000 (user agent of Chrome to use WhatsApp website).

I know how to use WhatsApp web with Maxthon! Go to Advanced Settings. The last line of that page wil ...

    It works.

Sadly, like on Chrome, it has issues of aligning text to the right (for RTL languages, like Hebrew). On Chrome I can install a plugin that fixes just this (though it forces the alignment for English too) :

    "Whatsapp RTL"

    https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/whatsapp-rtl/hnmlapkhkfepipgfafjfinelflpkmeba?hl=en

Also, changing the user-agent is global and not website-specific. I wonder what that would do to other websites.

If everyone wants Maxthon to be like Chrome, then why don't eveyrone just use Chrome instead of Ma ...

Well I don't know about what everyone else wans.

I like the features of Maxthon. Always have been.

In order to make Chrome even a bit like Maxthon in terms of features, I have to install so many addons, which is a mess to manage and aren't that good either.

However, some of them are good, and sadly I see some Maxthon features not being updated to what's going on. For example, the floating window works only for Flash, but not for HTML5 videos. Not only that, but it usually doesn't get any useful download of it.

There was even a specific version that improved this feature by adding a temporary "turbo" mode, which made it go faster.

Even addons on Maxthon don't get updated as they used to be, and most of what I see on the addons website is not in English.

Features that I like on Maxthon that others don't have :

    - split screen

    - ability to select text from clickable links (using this plugin: http://extension.maxthon.cn/detail/index.php?view_id=1448 ).

    - built in drag&drop feature, spell checking (though it cannot support multiple languages), translate tool, notes, RSS, website-alias,

    - paste&go via the "+" button.

    - not so memory/cpu hungry as others.

    - easy to manage passwords and hotkeys.

    Hi, UFO106,

As for https://web.whatsapp.com/ , it needs run by Chrome37 and above only. At present o ...

Could the next version of Maxthon (5) be based on Chrome in some way?

I think you are missing a lot of functionality and extensions on the current way.

Even for HTML5, there was a time that Maxthon was on the top of the list (on HTML5Test website), but now Chrome is above.

With Opera 12, there is another popup alert : Chrome 36 and upper.

Just because of this requirement, I run both maxthon and Chrome...

and an annoying thing on chrome is that when I close it, it asks if I'm sure, just because of WhatsApp website.

It's just a chat website. Why should it ask me if I'm sure to close the web browser...
