  1. Normally passkeeper prompts user to enter Maxthon password before anything is revealed. However, if user has passkeeper open in a tab when Maxthon is shut down, the next time Maxthon is opened, and any user opens passkeeper again from the list on Last Session tab, then passkeeper opens and gives an unauthorized user full access to all website passwords. Version
  2. Yes, I wish it were possible to do that. Passkeeper does NOT ALLOW the user the to enter or edit the username for an entry. You can ONLY modify the password. And what do you mean "If I were in your situation?" Are you not in the same situation? Are you saying that on your installation of Maxthon, the password management works differently than I am describing?
  3. @BugSir006 But how did you get to the "Login as Existing Customer" page on JimmyJoy? To be an existing customer, you had to create an account first, correct? During the account creation process, did you use Maxthon to generate a password automatically? My point is that if you use password generator, Maxthon stores that password under the appropriate URL, but with the "username" field EMPTY. So once you have created the account, you still have to login as an existing customer by MANUALLY TYPING both your chosen username AND the password which Maxthon generated. This is very inconvenient, unless you had the foresight to COPY the password initially...but in any case, this is not how Maxthon should function. It should store username AND password when CREATING the account. Currently it stores ONLY the password, creating an extra entry in passkeeper which is totally useless because it doesn't have an associated username. Please try to confirm, thanks.
  4. Almost every website! Here are a few examples: None of these sites, by the way, have a 2-step login process.
  5. Passkeeper security issue

Huh, I guess the devs quietly added that feature recently and I hadn't noticed it yet! Thanks! However, I would suggest a couple things...Preferences set in the options should be remembered for next password generation. Also, if you check the _$%@# box, it should force at least one of those characters to appear in every generated password. Right now, I have to keep clicking Generate Again until I randomly get a password that meets a particular websites' requirements.
  6. Am I the only one that finds that Passkeeper does not properly store account name and password when a new account is created? The dialog "Do you want to save this password?" does not pop up when *creating* an account. Whenever I signup for a new account, only the password is stored. If you go into passkeeper and find the entry, the username field is blank. Typically when creating a new account, that website then logs you in directly. If I log out, and then go back to the login page, Maxthon will NOT populate the username and password fields (because the username field is blank). The passkeeper feature ONLY works once I re-enter the username and password manually for the first time AFTER the account has been created. This is pretty annoying and makes the password generator feature especially cumbersome to use (I have to always remember to click "copy first, then click "fill", so that I can immediately logout, and then paste the complicated password back in and login to actually save in passkeeper so that it can be used in the future. I probably had to use the "Forgot my password" about 5 times on different websites before I realized that Maxthon NEVER works properly when creating new accounts. Can this not be fixed??? I haven't experienced this once I have actually stored the passwords, but it is a pain to get them to store properly, as I describe in my previous post.
  7. Passkeeper security issue

@Tony , I tend to agree with you that passkeeper should lock on browser exit regardless of whether passkeeper is open in a tab or not. However, I'm not sure why you say the feature is badly "thought out." I wouldn't even consider using a browser these days that didn't manage passwords...they have become too much of a nuisance with all the requirements of IT security departments to try to manually enter them. Overall I like the feature, but it's not clear to me that everyone in this thread is on the same page. Do we all agree that the desirable behavior would be: 1. Passkeeper should lock on browser exit regardless of whether passkeeper is open in a tab or not. 2. Passkeeper should not require repeat master password entry within 15 minutes as long as the browser stays open. Many are calling the current behavior a bug, but it's only a bug if it wasn't designed to work that way intentionally, which @BugSir006 seems to be suggesting. On another note, my bigger problem with passkeeper is that it doesn't function well on all websites. One example is: Another problem is that it has no options for password requirements. Some sites have very specific requirements, like at least one number, one of @#$%^&, one Capital letter, one lowercase letter, and at least 10 characters overall. Other sites disallow @#$%^&. At minimum there should be options to set minimum characters, and whether to include @#$%^& or not. Otherwise, there are actually a lot of sites where the password generator cannot be used.
  8. Skins for MX [Customizables]

Today I updated to This reverted my skin to the Maxthon original, which wasn't surprising. Can I go ahead an install the most recent skin package, or do I need to wait for an updated skin package for *each* new MX5 version that is released?
  9. Skins for MX [Customizables]

@Wilser, I'm using, had to downgrade for a while because the latest version was causing strange behavior on my PC. @MaxthonDevs, if you are going to support skins, wouldn't it be better to actually have an option within the program to "load" a skin, rather than making the user overwrite files in the Bin folder, which requires admin privleges? It's not a very elegant way to implement this feature.
  10. Skins for MX [Customizables]

Surprised that no one has reported this issue yet, which makes me wonder if it has to do with my particular screen resolution (1920x1080). If I open 7 tabs, the 7th tab overlaps with the skins and minimize window icon. This is using the regular Alpha skin. Thanks, Luke
