  1. Adware updates? Where do you see anything in Win10 about adware? No one is forcing you to do anything. You don't want to update, don't. But you'll be losing out. Not only does win10 bring a lot of new visible features, it brings a lot of optimizations under the hood  too.

    Have you tried win10? If not, why don't you keep your comments to something you actually know about. And if you have you are aware that win10 is still in beta(actually not even yet), so you are basing your comments on software that isn't even complete.

    Well, maybe I will upgrade, maybe not. Even MS doesn't know how the final version of Windows 10 will look. Sure I've tried Win 10, there are many very good thinks I like, but also still some very important which weren't solved yet. MS is working on them, it's visible, but it isn't done yet (as you said). No need to hurry. I wish Windows 10 will be perfect, but I am a bit suspicious, because last two Windows versions (8 and 8.1) were tragical, latest published version of MS Office also isn't one of the best and you probably heard about Vista…so I am just cautious.

    Btw. I noticed that some updates, which are preparing OS for upgrade appeared in Windows update again, even if I have hidden them previously. Maybe feature, maybe bug, maybe intent.

  2. I am the only one who thinks that forcing these "adware" updates for older versions of Windows are not very fair to users who doesn't want to upgrade? They only affect the user expierence and PC performance, their information value equels almost to zero. The user doesn't need them. In my eyes it's only a marketing strategy how to quickly get big amount of users to the new system.

  3. Hello and welcome to the forum :)

    Currently changing forum skin is not available but I hope this option will be added in the future.

    If you are talking about skins for Maxthon browser then you have probably two options:

    1. Use default skin and be satisfied with changing it's color theme in Main menu > Skins.

    2. Find skin you like in this forum section or in the old forum skin section. Some skins are also available in the Extension Center, but unfortunately not for latest Maxthon 4.

    After download, you can simply double click the file (it's extension is *.mxskin) and then confirm you want to apply it :)

  4. Yes, I know about this option, but I hope they will also add option to easily change the color of the windows header/background or some "night theme".

    post-301908-0-02569100-1432288362_thumb.

  5. You are right, start menu is still resizable, that's good. It was so laggy and problems with it's opening appeared in this new build, so it looks like it is not possible.
    I don't like that white color as a "main color", it really hurts my eyes and in my opinion it reduces readability.Everything is melted together, there is no difference between the header and the content area. But someone likes, I have no problem with that. I just thing there should be always an option, a choice. Let the user decide…
    I've submitted few requests and bug reports few builds ago and nothing was improved or fixed, so my experience with Microsoft isn't better. I hope they will finally stop experimenting and start optimizing.
  6. What the hell?! They have removed that nice option to resize the Start menu! It was the only thing which made sense… And everything is now even more white than ever before. The only good thing is that they have removed ugly red and purple flashing transitions from installation.

  7. Well, Microsoft's feedback platform is quite mess, everyone is posting his ideas and bug reports are multiplied.

    But finaly some improvements are becoming slightly visible. Unfortunately as previously mentioned, UI is still very inconsistent and if problem occures, it's harder to solve it, because necessary options were removed from the control panel or they have been moved somewhere else. One of the things I really don't like is the width of the taskbar if you move it to the left side of the screen, it's still the same, probably nobody noticed that. And distribution of updates...well, I don't want to be rude :)

    Did someone found out how to disable lockscreen? I don't need it - my device doesn't even have touchscreen…

  8. @Tony, try to switch to Fast obtaining of new updates (it's in Win Update settings). This build didn't appear for me if that option was set to "slow" :)

    It's called progress Zugi. Some people enjoy using the latest technology, others don't. If you a ...

    In my eyes it's step back. I don't care about version number, I care about functionality. And comfortable design is closely related to the functionality.

  10. I just don't like these new UIs. It's all awfully stretched and the design is created mainly for people who doesn't care about details because they are happy that they are able to turn PC on and launch Chrome...is that really design? It's almost like Window 3.1.

    Windows_3.11_workspace.png

    The computer world was full of colors, user could choose his favourite style from various themes, almost every program was thoroughly designed and offered customization. And look at it now, if you're lucky you can change the color of the background. This is the price for normalized ui.

  11. I wanted to test it right after the first preview was released, but I got stucked in installation. It was unwilling to boot. Goog start :-)

    Well, I hope they will finally at least make decision to store all settings on one place, like in Win 7. I still can't understand why they've diveded the Control panel and put a part of the settings into single app in Win 8. (Did you know they have removed the user interface for managing connections in Win 8/8.1? Oh yes, cmd is indispensable for that action. Very user friendly. :D)

    Thing I like about Win 7 is that I can hit the Win button anytime, type something and simply confirm that by Enter. Almost everytime the first result is okay. In Win8 the start menu covers the whole content, the search field takes place far away from the left corner and to make matters worse I have to usually browse some menu in order to get what I need.

    If something is good, I don't see any reason why to change it...

  12. Hello,

    I was notified by one visually impaired user of our local Maxthon.cz forum about his problems using Maxthon browser. However, this problem affects also e.g. users of large screens.

    It seems Maxthon still doesn't support changing font size. Option in Settings > Advanced > Webpage display > Web page font is useless and confusing, because it doesn't work. It's been already discussed here (#1, #2), but nothing has changed. It's sad that even much worse browsers have a better support for this basic feature.

    So I would like to remind this problem and ask, if we can reckon some solution in the future?

    By the way, I've found this workaround:

    1. Install Violentmonkey extension.

    2. Go to this page and click on „install this style as a user script“. This will send an userscript installation request to Violentmonkey. Confirm that installation.

    3. Done! Text size should be large now.

    Just to be sure, I attach that script here, if it eventually disappeared from the userstyles database:// ==UserScript==

    // @name Global Font Size

    // @namespace http://userstyles.org

    // @description Relax your eyes, as you can choose to have one Font Size for everything.

    (function() {var css = .join("\n");

    if (typeof GM_addStyle != "undefined") {

    GM_addStyle(css);

    } else if (typeof PRO_addStyle != "undefined") {

    PRO_addStyle(css);

    } else if (typeof addStyle != "undefined") {

    addStyle(css);

    } else {

    var node = document.createElement("style");

    node.type = "text/css";

    node.appendChild(document.createTextNode(css));

    var heads = document.getElementsByTagName("head");

    if (heads.length > 0) {

    heads.appendChild(node);

    } else {

    // no head yet, stick it whereever

    document.documentElement.appendChild(node);

    }

    }

    })();

  13. Hi,

    I am experiencing very annoying, but unfortunately not so unique problem on Google + in Maxthon.

    When I am writing new message via Google Hangouts, the whole page automatically refreshes itself. This happens only sometimes. I think I don't have to say that there isn't any problem in other browsers…

    I have already tried clean reinstallation, to disable Adblock and all other extensions and also delete cookies, but it never helped.

    Does anyone have any suggestion on how to solve this problem?

    Thank you!

  14. Problem is that this web loads it's content dynamically, while it's address remains the same. You can test for example this link, but I'm quite sure you'll not notice the problem (or maybe yes, I don't know why it appears...).

    I think there could be two problems: video and avatars.

    I noticed that the video uses HTML5 and when it doesn't load, also the righ-click context menu, typical for HTML5 videos, doesn't appear.

    But I have no idea, why also avatars (crowd in front of the video) disappeared.

    In previous post is screenshot of the same community only a few minutes apart (first from MX, second from Vivaldi browser). Third icon in top right corner indicates that there were 63 (66) users online and every online user automatically appears in front of the video rectangle. But the community looks empty in Maxthon, even if it's not.

    This is the worst case: both video doesn't play and avatars doesn't appear.

    12852

    If already tried clean reinstallation, but it had no effect. It worked for a while, but then, after few hours or days problem appeared again.

    Oh and in Retro mode the whole page even doesn't load. It remains black.

  15. Hello,

    I have problems with popular online music DJ service Plug.dj.

    User of this service can join a community (e.g. certain genre) and the service allows him to play and listen music, which is streamed from YouTube or Soundcloud.

    Unfortunately, the page doesn't work properly in Maxthon. Sometimes the YouTube video doesn't load or some parts of the web (e.g. "avatars") doesn't load. Adblock and all extensions are disabled, in other browsers isn't any problem.

    Plug.DJ in Maxthon v4.4.4.3000:

    12819

    Plug.DJ in Vivaldi v1.0.129.2:

    12820

    Can anybody confirm it or does know how to solve this problem?

    Thanks

  16. If I disable adblock, it's a little bit better, but the behavior is still worse than in other browsers. Everytime when I open new tab with some page, I have to look on a white nothing and then wait until the page is fully loaded, otherwise it's laggy and uncomfortable to use... As I remember, this problem appears since I started using Maxthon, on every PC, with or without account.

    My Internet connection is fast and in other browsers is no problem. It's probably the way how MX renders pages...

  17. This is a common problem of Maxthon, especially when you want to scroll down right after you open the page. As I remember, this problem appeared also in older versions, so I am not so sure if it has something to do with Adblock...

    When talking about this issue, may I ask if it's possible to turn of the "lazy mode" when opening more tabs at the background? It seems the pages in tabs, which are not active takes longer time to load. In other browsers are pages ready right after I open them, so why not in Mx? I think this problem may be related to this one...
